pmtoday - In Media Res (2010)

Genre: Alternative
Myspace: pmtoday
Rate: 192kbs

Tracklisting:
1. Thoughts in Transit
2. People Are Machines
3. Goodbye, Blue Monday
4. Progress is a Lemon
5. Don't Exist
6. I Am Wrong
7. Sad World
8. Soma Holiday
9. Composing a Commercial Holiday
10. A Convenient Literary Device for Ending Short Stories and Books

My Thoughts:
pmtoday has a pretty unique sound going on for them and this new album doesn't stray to far from its predecessor And Then The Hurricane. Regardless they can play the shit out of their instruments and that in itself is enough to appreciate them. Btw, if your about to off yourself i wouldn't put this CD on, it's depressing as hell

Verdict B++

Sounds Like: Protest the Hero listening to Birtheater and Brand New too much and deciding they shouldn't scream anymore.

4. Lancaster
5. Hook, Line And Sinner
6. I Am Yours
7. Aurora
8. Page One
9. Reflections
10. Satellites
11. Father Time

My Thoughts:
I really don't understand why August Burns Red put this CD out. I mean they couldn't have put much time into it being as they released Constellations a month prior. The vocals aren't nearly as good, the instrumentals are lacking (based on prior work). I mean it's not bad but I'll just buy Constellations.

Stary From the Path- Make Your Own History (2009)

My Thoughts:
Anger and agression drive this album forward. It feels like a half-hour beating by an enraged gorilla. Which surprisingly doesn't feel like a bad thing. So if your into Choatic Hardcore Madness and Bone-Crushing Breakdowns while a little guy yells in your face then this is the CD for you!

Of Mice and Men - Of Mice and Men (2010)

Genre: Metal, Hardcore

Rate: 256 kbs

Tracklist:
1. YDG
2. They Don't Call It The South For Nothing

6. Those In Glass Houses
7. Farewell To Shady Glade
8. The Ballad Of Tommy Clayton & The Rawdawg Millionaire
9. Seven Thousand Miles For What
10. This One's For You

My Thoughts:
While its not by any means bad it had a lot of potential to be better. The singing is very solid and i wish there was more of it being as Austin Carlisle's monotonous screaming is one of the biggest downers on the CD, second only to the awful lyrics. With all that negativity dragged out of the closet, it is a solid album. Definitely worth a listen

Verdict: B

Real solid Post-Hardcore out of Austraila. Sounds like an I Killed The Prom Queen-Enter Shikari sandwich. Excellent synth work, flows very nicely.

Four Year Strong - Enemy of the World (2010)

Myspace: Four Year Strong
Rate: 296 kbs

1. It Must Really Suck to Be Four Year Strong Right Now
2. On a Saturday
3. Wasting Time (Eternal Summer)
4. Nineteen with Neck Tatz

7. One Step at a Time
8. This Body Pays the Bill$
9. Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride
10. Flannel Is the Color of My Energy
11. Enemy of the World

My Thoughts:
I loved Rise or Die Trying, If play counts were pennies, Rise or Die Trying could buy a convertible. Which is why when i heard Enemy of the World was exactly the same as Rise or Die Trying, I was very disappointed. However, after many listens i have concluded that Enemy of the World is not the same as Rise or Die Trying. Yes, the style is the same. Its fast-paced, amped up pop-punk with ridiculously catchy hooks, but the one big difference between these two albums is passion. You listen to Rise or Die Trying, you feel Enemy of the World. Every song has raw emotion embedded into it that drives every song forward and every song is memorable. You could ask 11 different people their favorite song and get 11 different answers. Thats what makes Enemy of the World a great pick-up

Verdict: A
